Pinterest incomes in 2015 were $100M and grew within a year to $300M. The amazing Pinterest results hit the press several days ago, claiming it’s incomes will go as high as $500M on 2017

Knowledge is the key for better results- Every App knows what the user writes while using it. Pinterest knows what its users write within its website and App. Facebook knows what the user writes within FB and its various Apps (WhatsApp, Instagram), Google knows what the user writes in the web- Mobile keyboard knows what the user writes within the mobile devices (Web and Apps)

To get market advantage a company needs a broader view.

On mid-2016 Pinterest became a “mobile keyboard App owner” just like Google, Microsoft (The owner of Bing), The Chinese search engines Baidu, Sougou-inc and few other others.

To better understand the difference on monitoring the web user to the mobile one, it is enough to say that while Google is able to monitor anything a user writes on the web, it was blind to what the user writes on third party Apps.

Google couldn’t tell what the users just wrote to their friend on SnapChat, Whatsapp, nor what was the user intention to buy when the opened the Amazon App, or any App.

Since information is the essence of Google and its likes, It developed the GBoard keyboard App, and even made a version for the IOS as well. A keyboard is an upper layer to any Mobile app. Keyboard can tell all about the user identification, but also its intention.

better understanding of user intention, while others focus on user identification gives a real head-start in the mobile markets.

During 2016 Microsoft acquired the SwiftKey keyboard, followed by Pinterest who acquired Flesky

Unlike AdNetworks who interact with Apps to know the user identification, for better Ad targeting, a keyboard (any keyboard) is the main tool which can add to the “formula” the user intention.

After buying Keyboard companies, it is said that Microsoft and Pinterest took off any external sdk, and focused on their own solution, gaining amazing growth with impressions to their Ads, and a huge strategic understanding of the “whole user story” .

Pinterest reportedly saw a growth of Video Ads which generated it incomes

True, it is never one thing which accelerates a company’s growth, surly not one which incomes are hundreds of millions are involved. However, better understanding of user intention, while others focus on user identification gives a real head-start in the mobile markets.
